Subpixel determination of imperfect circles characteristics
2008
This article deals with the problem of the determination of characteristics of imperfect circular objects in discrete images, namely the radius and center coordinates. To limit distortion, a multi-level method based on active contours was developed. Its originality is to furnish a set of geometric envelopes in one pass, with a correspondence between grayscale and a regularity scale. The adequacy of this approach was tested with several methods, among them is the Radon-based method. More particularly, this study indicates the relevance of the use of active contours combined with a Radon transform-based method which was improved using a fitting considering the discrete implementation of the R…
Load forecast on intelligent buildings based on temporary occupancy monitoring
2016
The modeling of energy consumption in buildings must consider occupancy as a relevant input, since it plays a very important role in the overall building's energy consumption. Frequently, buildings lack of permanent occupancy monitoring solutions. However, they may include data sources that are correlated with real building occupancy. This study proposes a new methodology for energy consumption modeling, supported by these alternative data sources, such as the number of vehicles in a parking lot. The aim is to mitigate investment in permanent occupancy monitoring solutions. The proposed methodology makes use of short-term real occupancy monitoring for model fitting, to enable the developmen…
Validity and Internal Consistency of the Preschool-FLAT, a New Tool for the Assessment of Food Literacy in Young Children from the Training-To-Health…
2020
Background: The importance of assessing “food literacy” since youth has been highlighted and, to this purpose, valid and consistent instruments are needed. This study aimed to assess the validity and internal consistency of the preschool-FLAT (Food Literacy Assessment Tool). Methods. 505 children from 21 kindergartens, recruited within the Training-to-Health Project in Palermo (Italy), underwent oral sessions and activities on food-related aspects. Their knowledge/skills were recorded in the preschool-FLAT. The following scale measures were assessed: Content validity; internal consistency (Chronbach’s alpha coefficients); construct validity (Structural Equation Modeling&md…
Mogućnosti i granice montaže modela čeljusti orijentiranih prema šarnirskoj osi
1988
